Thermo Couple Tips
Thermocouples are among the most widely used temperature sensing solutions in industrial applications. Known for their reliability, cost-effectiveness, and versatility, they offer standardised connectivity and the ability to measure across a broad temperature range. While highly efficient, achieving accuracy below ±1°C can be challenging due to inherent system limitations.
At Pozar Thermo, we specialise in the design and development of high-performance thermocouple tips engineered for precise temperature detection in demanding environments. Our thermocouple tips are compatible with multiple thermocouple types, including Type B, K, R, and S, ensuring flexibility across a wide range of metallurgical applications.
We manufacture expendable immersion thermocouple tips designed specifically for use in foundries and steel plants. These tips are integrated with spiral-wound cardboard protection tubes and are mounted onto lance pipes for safe and efficient operation.
During operation, the thermocouple tip is immersed into molten metal for approximately 4 to 6 seconds, enabling rapid and accurate temperature measurement. The generated millivolt signal is transmitted to a microprocessor-based system, where it is processed and displayed instantly on the connected digital unit.
Engineered for speed, accuracy, and durability, Pozar Thermo’s thermocouple tips support critical decision-making in high-temperature metal processing environments.

Type B (Platinum / Rhodium)
Suited for high temperature measurements up to 1800°C. Unusually type B thermocouples (due to the shape of their temperature / voltage curve) give the same output at 0°C and 42°C. This makes them useless below 50°C.
Type K (Chromel / Alumel)
Type K is the 'general purpose' thermocouple. It is low cost and, owing to its popularity, it is available in a wide variety of probes. Thermocouples are available in the -200°C to +1300°C range. Sensitivity is approx 41uV/°C. Use type K unless you have a good reason not to.
Type R (Platinum / Rhodium)
Suited for high temperature measurements up to 1720°C. Low sensitivity (10uV/°C) and high cost makes them unsuitable for general purpose use.
Type S (Platinum / Rhodium)
Suited for high temperature measurements up to 1720°C. Low sensitivity (10uV/vC) and high cost makes them unsuitable for general purpose use. Due to its high stability type S is used as the standard of calibration for the melting point of gold (1064.43°C).
